About the job:

We’re looking for an experienced Operational Manager to be responsible for the profitability and management of operational and financial performance and delivery outcomes within Christchurch Operations.

This complex role will involve maximising contract financial returns through improving operational efficiency, the management of staff, asset management and goal setting/achieving. Building strong relationships with clients will be key in ensuring that we exceed expectations.

You will also have involvement in tendering and setting goals, to achieve targets set out in our strategic plan, therefore a strong understanding of our contract requirements will be a must!

What you’ll need:

• Extensive technical and practical experience in contracts (5 years minimum) in a relevant field.
• Proven staff and asset management experience.
• Appropriate management or technical qualifications at tertiary level (NZCE Mechanical, Electrical or equivalent).
• Experience in treatment and pump stations.
• Proven ability to lead, manage, motivate and communicate with others including 3 direct reports and a large team of permanent and temporary staff.
• A sound commitment to health & safety, quality assurance and environmental management.

All preferred candidates will be required to complete preemployment checks to the employer’s satisfaction. These checks include but are not limited to, ministry of Justice criminal conviction report, medical assessment, and drug and alcohol testing.
