About The Role

The Control Room Operator will support our underground operations by monitoring activity at the mine in line with the mines safety management systems, production plans and security systems.

 

Reporting into the Emergency Services Coordinator, the Control Room Operator is the primary contact for Emergency Response and provision of first aid. 

 

What You’ll Do

  • Monitoring and interpretation of the mine environment both surface and underground via the Citect computer network, communicating with personnel on production and maintenance in areas of, longwall and development mining, conveyors, ventilation, pumping, power, environmental monitoring, fire water and compressors. Provide continued contact with those systems, and through clear communications with mine personnel, assist coordination of rapid response to potential loss causing incidents.
  • Manage performance by managing and monitoring of shift personnel and enforcing standards of work and behaviour.
  • Ensure that high Health, Safety and Environment standards are present and maintained in all activities, and aim to continually improve those standards. Working in accordance to mining legislation and company rules and ethics with regards to mining practices and health and safety.
  • Provide professional First Aid services by monitoring, equipment and skills in readiness for incidents. Provide first aid to the workforce, testing for dehydration as well as Drug and Alcohol testing following any accident or incident in the mine.
  • Maintain reporting systems by attention to accurate reporting, recording and adherence to standard protocols to allow for audit processes.

 

What You’ll Bring

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience working underground for a mine site
  • Demonstrated commitment to, and successful achievement of business goals and outcomes.
  • Previous experience working within a multi-discipline environment where interface issues were prevalent and priority setting was a recognised responsibility.
  • Demonstrated understanding of mine management and production plans
  • Senior First Aid Qualifications
