About the Role

An outstanding opportunity has become available for a Mechanical Leading Hand to join our Gunnedah Basin Haulage site in the Maintenance team. The Leading Hand will be employed under a roster of 5/2 – Monday to Friday.

What You’ll Do

• Assist in leading the maintenance crew, providing guidance and proactive leadership skills.
• Complete planned, unplanned, and corrective maintenance tasks
• Ensure compliance to Whitehaven Coals Occupational Health and Safety Standard is being met.
• Ensure that all incidents, accidents and hazards are reported and are followed up correctly to minimise and manage risk.
• Inspect equipment and raise job requests on any defective parts/components found.

What You’ll Bring

• Mining or general heavy industry / haulage experience in a leading hand or leadership position
• Risk management experience
• Problem-solving
• Knowledge of OH&S legislation and statutory requirements in NSW (Desireable)
• RIIRIS301D – Apply Risk Management Processes
• RIIWHS301D – Conduct safety and Health Investigations
• RIICOM301D – Communicate Information
• Current Driver’s Licence (essential)
• RIIRIS402D Carry out the risk management process
