What’s Involved

We receive about 8 tonnes of clothing donations from our generous community throughout the year. We come together for 2 weeks and we need help with:

·       The general set up

·       Sorting donations

·       Mending and cleaning

·       Hang, and price and

·       Finally make it look fabulous for sale day.

The program

The Bindaring Clothing Sale is the oldest and largest pre-loved annual charity fashion event in W.A. Nearly 2,000 bargain hunters flock to this sale each year. Now in its 6th decade, this volunteer-led event raises funds for the Australian Red Cross programs here in W.A. We have something for everyone, our Op Shop prices are $2-$10, we have a separate menswear, high-end fashion, well-known brands and funky/vintage/eclectic fashion, so it’s a lot of fun, especially if you love fashion.

The opportunity

·      All you need for this role is the ability to work within a team.

·      There are no specific skills required, except for ability to cope with a crowd.

·      Many lifelong friendships have been made at Bindaring.

·      If English is not your first language, don’t feel it stops you from joining us, we are a multicultural group of men and women.

Red Cross will ensure you have training, ongoing support and access to other opportunities within the world’s largest humanitarian network.

The impact

The main impact of volunteering for Bindaring is raising much needed funds for Red Cross programs here in Western Australia. There are also the environmental benefits of our event, we pride ourselves on low landfill by washing, mending and doing our very best to find a home for all our donations. Bindaring has led the way, we have been taking pre-loved clothing for over 60 years and finding someone to love it again, so join our team!
